Power Outages At the City of Maryville, we know that a power outage can be very disruptive to your daily activites. It is our hope that by working together, we can make the restoration process go as quickly as possible. If your power is out, please follow these steps: 1) Check to make sure you have no billing issues and check your breakers. 2) After all checking is done, call 273-3300 if it is during our normal business hours of Monday through Fridays, 7:30am - 4:00pm. If it is NOT during business hours or it's a holiday, please call the after hours emergency number, 983-8722. 3) Prior to calling, have an exact address ready and be prepared to give additional information, if possible, such as a loud noise occurred, a tree fell, etc. |
Power Outage Tips Power outages can be caused by many things--weather conditions, traffic accidents and even animals. Due to the fact that outages are often unavoidable and the lengths of them are often unknown, it is very important to be prepared. -ALWAYS keep emergency supplies on hand such as batteries, flashlights, etc. -Cordless phones will not work during a power outage. Be sure to have either a land line or a cell phone available somewhere in your home. -As much as possible, keep your refrigerator and freezer doors shut so that they will maintain their temperatures. -Stay away from any lines that are down or any situation that looks dangerous. -If a power outage would cause a life threatening or any other serious emergency situation, please have all back ups necessary ready and available for use.
Scheduled Power Outages There are times when a scheduled power outage must occur in order for maintenance to be done. Please watch for notifications such as signs, notices in the newspaper, and this website for scheduled power outages and information concerning them.
