Public Safety / Education   

Through education and awareness the Public Safety and Education division's goal is to reduce unintentional injuries and loss of life and property. We do this by offering several classes and programs that are available to the citizens of Maryville.

Classes / Programs offered   

The fire department participates in and conducts the following educational programs:

  1. Smoke alarm installation door to door program 
  2. Smoke alarm battery replacement
  3. Carbon monoxide detector installation
  4. Hearing impaired smoke alarm installation
  5. Jr. Rookie School
  6. School Visits

  10. Life Safety House ( with Alcoa Fire)
  11. Exit Drills In The Home (EDITH)
  12. Daycare visits
  13. Firefighters are your friends program
  14. Blood Pressure checks in the mall
  15. Fire Extinguisher training
  16. College RA training
  17. Senior Citizen Safety Program including burn and fall prevention; Remembering When Program
  18. Special Events- Special Olympics, Empty Pantry and United Way
  19. Fire Prevention Month Program - smoke alarm signups and fire prevention programs
  20. Read with the Firefighters
  21. Fire - setters Program
