Brief description of department:   
The Finance and Accounting Department is divided into five areas; the city recorder's office, utility accounting, purchasing, budgeting and finance, and customer service.  Processing property taxes, issuing business licenses, meter reading, and managing the City's fiscal year budget are also functions of the department.
