- Cochran Road on the Raulston side closed
|
During Phase I, Cochran Road was realigned at Raulston Road. By the end of the project, a new traffic signal will be installed at this intersection which will improve safety and traffic flow for Cochran Rd, Raulston Rd, Peterson Rd, and Carpenters Grade.
This required Cochran Road to be closed at the Raulston Road end for a period beginning in mid-June. The other side of Cochran remained open. |

The Carpenters Grade corridor project will improve a main corridor in the community – it will add a traffic signal at the busy Cochran/ Raulston/ Carpenters/ Peterson intersection, widen lanes for two-way traffic, provide better storm drainage and provide a multi-use (walking and bike) path – all to improve the safety of the stretch of road that sees over 11,000 vehicles a day traveling through Blount County and the city of Maryville.
