Fleet

John Hudgens
Vehicle and Equipment Mechanic, Fleet Maintenance

We are proud to recognize a key member of our fleet team whose expertise and leadership are essential to our daily operations, John Hudgens, an ASE Master Mechanic with a true "heart of a helper".

In a shop environment, having someone with deep experience isn't just an advantage, it’s a necessity. As our oldest and most experienced mechanic, John provides a level of knowledge that the entire team relies on. Whether it is diagnosing a complex engine issue or rolling up his sleeves to get dirty on a difficult repair, John brings a level of professionalism and dedication that sets a high standard for public service.

What truly sets John apart is his specialized skill as a fabricator. He is currently the primary mechanic in the shop who can build or modify parts from scratch. This ability allows us to find the best solutions to unique challenges, often saving time and resources by keeping specialized work in-house.
But John’s value goes beyond his own technical abilities. He is committed to the growth of the whole department and is actively teaching other team members how to weld and fabricate. By passing down his years of experience, he is ensuring that the team remains successful and prepared for the future.

Public service is a calling for those who want to make a difference, and John embodies that every day. He is never too busy to offer guidance or a helping hand to a coworker. On behalf of the entire team, thank you, John, for your technical expertise, your willingness to mentor others, and your tireless work ethic. You are a crucial part of our success, and we appreciate everything you do.
