Our communications team works across City departments to keep residents informed and support initiatives that strengthen our community. We are looking for a communications professional who values collaboration and takes pride in creating clear, engaging public information. 

About the Role 
The Multimedia Communications Specialist performs a variety of integrated marketing, information, media, and public relations functions in support of City-wide priorities, initiatives, events, and outreach campaigns. 

This position works collaboratively with multiple City departments and assists with the development and implementation of communication efforts that inform and engage the public. 

Key Responsibilities 
The Multimedia Communications Specialist supports a wide range of communications and public information efforts, including: 
• Assisting with the development and implementation of communication campaigns and outreach initiatives 
• Writing and editing content for social media, website updates, newsletters, and other communications materials 
• Managing and maintaining the City’s website content 
• ​Producing visual materials with strong graphic design skills
• Supporting project management for communications initiatives and campaigns 
• Assisting with photography, videography, and multimedia storytelling projects 

Skills and Experience 
Successful candidates will demonstrate experience in communications, marketing, public relations, and graphic design best practices. 
Candidates should have proficiency in: 
• Social media and digital communications 
• Website content management 
• Writing and editing for public audiences 
• Graphic design and multimedia production 
• Photography and videography 
• Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere 
• Microsoft Office applications 

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail oriented, and able to translate technical or departmental information into content that is accessible and meaningful to the public. 

Strong collaboration skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines are essential. 

Education and Experience 
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in communications, journalism, marketing, electronic media, broadcasting, or a related field. 

Moderate experience in communications, marketing, journalism, or electronic media is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
