Maryville is part of a mutual aid network of 15 counties in the region. When one community in the network faces hard times, all participating agencies work together to coordinate an ongoing response.
As you can imagine, crews in that area have been working around the clock since the onset of the storm.
The scheduled arrival of firefighters from surrounding communities occurs in phases to ensure continuous staffing and much needed relief for the first responders in the areas hardest hit.
This week, it was Maryville’s turn to answer that call.
There’s a long road of recovery ahead in East Tennessee and the other regions affected by Helene. As always, we stand ready to help our neighbors through this tremendously challenging time.
