De Moya has led communications initiatives for nonprofit, higher education and public-serving organizations, with a focus on organization-wide messaging, brand alignment and public-facing communications. Her professional expertise includes strategic communications planning, public and media relations, digital marketing, community relations, internal and employee communications, and project management. She also brings extensive experience in leadership, supervision and cross-departmental collaboration.
“Mariel brings a thoughtful, strategic approach to communications and a strong understanding of the responsibility the City has to communicate clearly and transparently,” said Jane Groff, administrative services director for the City of Maryville. “Her experience leading complex communications efforts and her collaborative leadership style will greatly benefit the City and the community we serve.”
As communications director, De Moya will oversee the City’s communications strategy, including public information, media relations, branding and messaging across departments and platforms.
