East Harper Avenue will be closed to eastbound traffic until further notice due to damage to the bridge between Wright Rd. and Griffitt St. At around 9 p.m. Monday, a vehicle collided with the bridge rail, destroying the rail on the eastbound side.
Engineering and Public Works director Brian Boone said, “By noon today, the eastbound side of E. Harper Ave. will be closed for repairs.” Eastbound traffic on Harper will be detoured to Broadway Ave. at Everett Ave. The westbound lane on Harper will remain open to local traffic only.
