The signal will operate, tentatively, during the week of June 22 in flashing mode. This state-required phase helps motorists become familiar with the new signal and adjust their driving habits before full operation begins.
During this period, the signal will flash yellow on West Broadway Ave., indicating drivers should proceed with caution. It will flash red on Old Niles Ferry Road, requiring drivers to use the normal stop sign protocol.
The signal will begin normal operation two weeks following.
