Public Review of the City of Maryville "Self-evaluation and Transition Plan"
for ADA Compliance
Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires all City services, programs, and activities to be readily accessible and usable by people with disabilities. The City of Maryville conducted a self-evaluation of City-owned facilities and programs for compliance with the ADA. The findings of the evaluation are included in a draft document called “Self-evaluation and Transition Plan.” This plan is available for the public to review from June 7 – June 21 at these locations:
The City would like public input about access and use barriers that exist or are thought to exist with City facilities or programs - especially from people with disabilities, their caregivers, and disability advocates. The City also seeks comments and suggestions about how to remove barriers. Comments will be reviewed and considered for the City’s final transition plan document. Comments will be included in the appendix of the document.
The City will adopt the “Self-evaluation and Transition Plan” after review and any changes from public input are made.
People who need accommodations related to disabilities in order to take part in the public input period may contact the City’s ADA Coordinator. Please provide a written request of the accommodation no later than June 19, 2019.
Comments from the public can be provided in writing by June 21, 2019. Mail or deliver comments to ADA Coordinator Leland Blackwood, 404 West Broadway Avenue, Maryville, TN 37803, or email to email@example.com. For more information, call 865-273-3430.
