Citizens Police Academy

The Maryville Police Department is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA). 
and the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police sanctioned Tennessee Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (TLEA).
​The City of Maryville Police Department is taking applications for its Citizens Police Academy through December 29, 2023. Class dates are Tuesdays from February 20 - April 30, 2024. The academy is an opportunity for the Police Department to establish a more direct connection with the citizens they serve and for residents to get a behind-the-scenes perspective of the law enforcement profession.

This dynamic ten-week class offers live demonstrations, classroom learning, and hands-on, interactive experiences. Students will learn directly from the men and women of the Maryville Police Department about a wide range of policing topics.
Who Can Apply
Any citizen or employee of Maryville who is:
  • At least 18 years old
  • Has no felony convictions
