Regarding TVA's Rate Increase
The TVA board approved a 5.25% base rate increase effective October 1, 2024. This increase is automatically passed through to our end-use electric customers and will take effect with October billing cycles. The effective retail rate for each class of electric customer will be determined by the new wholesale rate schedule from TVA. Retail rates for all classes of electric customers are posted each month above on this page (click on "Current Electric Rates").

Broadway Ave. Maryville, TN 37801 • As a Bank Draft customer, you will continue to receive a monthly statement that looks like a normal bill but ready "Amount to be Drafted". Your payment will be automatically drafted from the bank account on file on your normal payment due date. All credit/debit card payments and e-check payments will be assessed a 2.85% transaction fee by the third-party vendors whether processed online, by using our automated IVR phone system or at the Municipal Center. This fee goes directly to the third party vendors for the service and will appear as a separate charge on your statement.

The Customer Service Policy outlines the agreement with customers and the City to provide electrical and water/ sewer service. The following is an excerpt from the policy regarding billing statements.
Billing
1. Bills will be rendered monthly and shall be paid at the office of COMU or through the various other methods listed under “Payment Hours”.
2. Failure to receive a bill will not release Customer from payment obligation.
3. The due date for payment of the bill will be at least 15 days for all cycles from the date of the bill.
4. Payments made after the due date will be subject to a late payment charge of 5 percent
5. A one-time courtesy adjustment of late fee per account may be allowed.
6. If the COM is unable to obtain access during regular business hours to read meters or if for any other reason correctly registered consumption cannot be obtained, the COM reserves the right to render an estimated bill to the customer on the basis of the best available information available.
