The Patrol, Detective, and the Office of Professional Standards, Training, and Planning divisions operate under the command of a captain, who reports directly to the Chief of Police.
RecordsThe records division is responsible for the data entry, storage maintenance, security and retrieval of all incident reports, accident reports, and arrest records. This unit is an essential part of the Police Department.
The State of Tennessee requires that all law enforcement agencies adhere to rules as directed by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) for reports. Tennessee Incident Based Reporting system (TIBRS) requires that all agencies maintain an error rating of less than four percent each month to remain certified.
