Certified Police Officer

About this Opportunity: Performs protective service work enforcing laws, investigating criminal activity, ensuring safety of public, maintaining records and files, testifying in court, preparing reports, and related work as apparent or assigned.
 
Essential Functions
• On an assigned shift, operates patrol vehicle or specialized police equipment or walks to observe for violations of traffic laws, suspicious activities or persons, and disturbances of law and order.
• Interviews victims and witnesses to obtain additional information regarding crime, accident, violation, etc.
• Investigates crimes; collects evidence; conducts searches.
• Responds to radio dispatches and answers calls and complaints; serves warrants, summons, etc.; completes arrest records.
• Makes arrests and testifies in court; prepares incident and various special reports.
• Enforces traffic laws; investigates accidents; issues traffic citations.
• Participates in a variety of in-service and special training programs.
• Provides police escorts, directs traffic; performs residential and commercial security checks.
• Responds to and investigates domestic disputes; assists other law enforcement agencies when assigned.
• May be assigned to investigations, school resource policing, traffic, 5th Judicial Drug Task Force, community policing or other technical or special support operation.

Certified Police Officer Job Description

Wastewater Plant Technician / Operator 

​About the Opportunity:
The Wastewater Plant operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Wastewater Plant Technician performs intermediate technical work in the operation and maintenance of a water treatment plant, taking samples, reading gauges and charts, performing routine tests, assisting to ensure proper plant operation, maintaining records and files, and related work as apparent or assigned.

Essential Functions:  
  • Maintains and operates wastewater treatment plant; records readings from instruments; maintains records on plant operations; monitors flows and makes appropriate adjustments.
  • Monitors Autothermal Thermophilic Aerobic Digestor and reports and operational issues to the Lead Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator.
  • Collects samples; performs laboratory tests in the absence of the Laboratory Technician.
  • Assists with the maintenance and repair of plant equipment.
  • Handles chemicals and calculates correct dosage.
  • Performs general custodial and grounds maintenance work.

Wastewater Treatment Plant Tech/Operator

Senior Accountant/Analyst

About This Opportunity: 

Performs intermediate professional & technical work involving gathering and analyzing financial information to assist management with financial analysis and other areas as needed; advises on problems and suggest improvements to minimize risk. Working with proprietary funds & general funds performing such task as creating and posting journal entries to the general ledger, managing fixed assets, performing cost allocations, preparing & reviewing financial records and files, reconciling accounts, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the Deputy Director & Director of Financial Services. 

​Essential Functions: 
  • Reviews general ledger to ensure accurate postings; researches issues arising from general ledger review. 
  • Performs a variety of financial tasks, which may include posting financial data, balancing accounts, tracking fund activity, and maintaining financial ledgers. 
  • Prepares various financial reports and records, including journal entries, payment documents, and other financial statements. 
  • Reconciles general ledger accounts and creates required journal entries to adjust or correct. 
  • Records financial entries generated from the property tax system into the master financial system. 
  • Updates and maintains capital assets in the financial system(s): o Evaluates purchases to ensure compliance with city policies. 
    • Ensures cost and depreciation information is up-to-date and available. 
    • Communicates with departments regarding assets. 
    • Works with departments performing periodic asset inventories. 
  • Monitors city fleet fuel and inventory control. 
  • Maintains and balances retainage accounts for city projects. 
  • Reviews invoices for proper coding prior to payment; reviews postings to general ledger; posts journal entries to general ledger. 
  • Assists with audit and preparation of Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. 
  • Extracts information from financial software to prepare reports for other departments and state agencies. 
  • Maintains and creates monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for local option sales tax and property tax data. 
  • Maintains TVA guidelines in financial reporting. 
  • Creates monthly and annual TVA reports. 
  • Assists internal and external customers with questions pertaining to finance. 
  • Assists in special projects as designated by the Deputy Director and Director of Financial Services. 
  • Works closely with all accounting staff and management. 
  • Serves as back-up for various accounting staff.
