New Utility Billing Improvements and Features Coming Soon
Customers of the city of Maryville will have more options for bill payment next month with its new self-service payment portal beginning in February. The secure portal is provided by Utilitec, the City’s utility billing service. The new service will simplify the payment process and provide customers more opportunities to manage payments through a variety of convenient services.
Some of the features the service offers are:
Other features include the ability to split payments between two payment methods and schedule future-dated one-time payments. We will also accept credit card payments for more city services such as permits, animal adoption and traffic citations. There will be a 2.85% transaction fee assessed by the third-party vendor on all credit/debit card payments whether processed online or at the Municipal Center. This fee goes directly to the third-party vendor for the service and will appear as a separate charge.
Customers may continue to pay by cash or check free of charge at the Maryville Municipal Building or by mail. Check payments may also be deposited in the overnight drop box in front of the Maryville Municipal Building. Additionally, customers can sign up at the municipal building for automatic bank draft free of charge which eliminates the need to remember to pay the bill each month.
“We have listened to our customers and have worked to offer more convenient options to pay bills. The partnership with the third-party vendor provides the opportunity to do that,” said Financial Services Director, Mike Swift. “We know time is valuable, and this service will offer people flexibility to manage their payments when it is convenient in their busy schedules.”
