City of Maryville Utility customers have contacted us with questions and concerns about a third-party bill payment service named "doxo."
As described on their website, doxo is an online payment service that advertises the ability to manage many different bills through their website.
The service uses utility company names and logos without the permission of the utilities which may lead customers to believe they are making payments directly to the utility (in our case, the City of Maryville). The payment actually goes to doxo. While the payments are being made to the City by doxo, it appears most payments through doxo are delayed. This can result in late fees to the customer's account as well as possible disconnection and associated fees.
City of Maryville is not affiliated with doxo, and is unable to track or obtain any information about the transactions made through them. We do not endorse this or any other bill payer service.
