Large Spring Resurfacing Project to Start April 1, 2024

Contractors for the city of Maryville will be repaving several streets in the John Sevier area beginning Monday, April 1 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily, weather permitting. The entire project is expected to last two weeks depending on weather. Residents and businesses in the area should not park on the street during the paving period.

Streets to be repaved include Sequoyah Ave., Westfield Dr., Eckles Dr., Lenore Ln., Withers Dr., and Clyde Cir.

Flagged traffic will be in place and no detours are expected. For more information call Engineering and Public Works at 273-3500.

N. Cusick Street will be Narrowed to Two Lanes Wednesday April 3, 2024

On Wednesday April 3, 2024, a section of N. Cusick Street will be narrowed to two lanes. Beginning at the Korean War Memorial Bridge and ending at Hannum Street, all traffic will be shifted to the north bound side of N. Cusick Street, with one lane in each direction. The main entrance to the Blount County Public Library off N. Cusick Street will be limited to a right turn only to enter and to exit. This lane shift is expected to be in effect for one day only while the City of Maryville Water and Sewer Department repair a failing sewer pipe.

The Water Quality Report is Now Available for Review

The calendar year 2023 City of Maryville Water Quality Report is available for review.

As part of the Safe Drinking Water Act, public water supply systems are required to share water quality monitoring results of their drinking water with consumers. View the Report

The 2023 report was published in March of 2024.

Downtown Sidewalk Repair Work Set to Begin April 1, 2024

Beginning Monday April 1, 2024, contractors for the City of Maryville will be planing sidewalks in the downtown area to repair trip hazards created by changes in the levels of sidewalk panels. This project is expected to take two to three days to complete. The work will include East and West Broadway Avenue from South Washington Street to Cates Street. East and West Harper Avenue from Everett Avenue to Cates Street, and Sevierville Road beginning at South Washington Street continuing to where Sevierville Road becomes East Church Avenue and then along East and West Church Avenue to Cates Street (see the map above).

Pedestrians should use caution in the area.

A Section of Court Street will be Closed Today, March 21, 2024

UPDATE: 3/22/24 This section of Court Street will be closed again today, Friday, March 22 until approximately 2 p.m. while work on the water tap continues.

The City of Maryville Water and Sewer Department will close Court Street from E. Church Avenue to Ellis Avenue today, Thursday, March 21, 2024. The road will be closed from 8 a.m. until approximately 4 p.m. while crews work on a water tap.

Broken Water Line Near John Sevier Elementary School Tuesday March 19, 2024

The City of Maryville Water and Sewer Department reports a broken water line near John Sevier Elementary School that needs immediate repair today, Tuesday, March 19, 2024. Several homes in the area will be without water for an undetermined amount of time while repairs are being made.

2024 Good Friday Holiday Schedule

The City of Maryville Municipal Center Offices, the Operation Center, and Recycling Centers will all close in observance of Good Friday, March 29, 2024. Recycling centers will reopen on Saturday, March 30 at 7 a.m. Residential trash that is normally picked up on Friday will be collected on Monday, April 1.

A Section of S. Belmont Dr. Closed Today, March 19, 2024

UPDATE: This section of S. Belmont Drive will be closed again today from 7:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. while crews continue their work on a water tap.

The City of Maryville Water and Sewer Department will close S. Belmont Drive from Rankin Drive to E. Lamar Alexander Parkway today, Tuesday, March 19, 2024. The road will be closed from 7:30 a.m. until approximately 2 p.m. while crews work on a water tap.

A Section of Old Niles Ferry Road to be Closed Tuesday, March 12, 2024

The City of Maryville Engineering and Public Works Department will close both lanes of Old Niles Ferry Road between Best Street and West Broadway Avenue on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Public Works crews will be working on a sight distance issue in that area. The work is expected to be finished by 3 p.m. on Tuesday, but it may take additional time to complete. If that is the case the same area will be closed again on Wednesday, March 13, from 8 a.m. until the work is finished.

Motorists are encouraged to use Henry Street as an alternative.

New Gas Lines to be Installed Along Montvale Station Road

Atmos Energy will be installing new gas lines in the Montvale Station Road area from Montvale Road to Best Street over the next few months. This work will be done in the right of way and will not require any road closures.

Atmos Energy is responsible for fixing any damage caused during the installation process and restoring the property as closely as possible back to its previous condition.
