The City of Maryville will close eastbound Broadway Avenue, between Cates and Cusick streets, Aug. 22-23 to allow construction crews to begin shoring work at 202 West Broadway Ave. The site is the future home of a 98-room hotel in Downtown Maryville. The structure will sit atop a 118-space public parking garage, which will replace the current Sam Houston Lot, neighboring Broadway Towers. Road closure signs will be posted on Broadway Avenue where it intersects with Cusick and Cates streets. Patrons of the businesses along the closure section are encouraged to use the first and second floors of the public parking garage at West Church Street. Parking is also available in the west Harper Street parking garage. If needed, crews may re-close that section of Broadway early next week to complete the work. Closure updates will be posted on the News, Traffic and Service Updates page of the City’s website and on Facebook, Instagram and NextDoor. The City of Maryville Water and Sewer Department will close Centennial Church Road from Davis Ford Road to Helton Road on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 8 a.m. until approximately 5 p.m. Crews will be working on water tie-ins for the new Sugarland Creek subdivision. The water will need to be shut off until the work is complete. Residents in the area are encouraged to plan for an interruption to their water service.
