The City of Maryville Municipal Center Offices, the Operation Center, and Recycling Centers will all close in observance of Independence Day on Friday, July 3, 2020. The Recycling Centers will remain closed on Saturday July 4. All offices and the Recycling Centers will reopen on Monday, July 6. Residential trash that is normally picked up on Friday will be collected on Monday, July 6.

The caller claims to be with the city and demands immediate payment of a delinquent utility account or face disconnection of services.
No government official will contact a citizen to demand immediate payment or to threaten them. If you have questions or want to report a call, use your keypad to dial customer service at 865-273-3456. Never return a suspicious call that has come into your phone. No government or utility will ever take a payment in the form of a gift card. Scammers use fear tactics to persuade people to forward money urgently. Be suspicious of callers who demand immediate payment for any reason. Never give personal or financial information to someone who calls, texts or emails you. Immediately report the activity to your local law enforcement agency. There will always be new ways for criminals to scam money from people. Be alert and suspicious and call a trusted agency if in doubt. Land Development Administrator Performs intermediate skilled technical work administering and enforcing the City’s zoning ordinance and subdivision regulations, serving as staff support to various boards and commissions, preparing and presenting reports, maintaining files and records, preparing reports, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Deputy Development Services Director. Bachelor’s degree with coursework in urban planning, public administration, geography or related field and considerable experience in professional planning preferably in municipal government, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Senior Planner Responsible for professional and technical work in the City’s planning program including review of land use applications, staffing of city boards, preparing reports plans and planning related regulations. Provides information to the public regarding land development regulations and processes. Reports to the Deputy Development Services Director. Master’s degree in urban planning, public administration or a related field required and extensive experience in professional planning preferably in municipal government or equivalent combination of education and experience. As part of the Safe Drinking Water Act, public water supply systems are required to share water quality monitoring results of their drinking water with consumers. City of Maryville Engineering and Public Works will oversee the installation of three new bridges on the Sandy Springs section of the Greenbelt on Wednesday, June 3. Sections of the greenway will be closed for part or all of the day. The closures will include from Montvale Road to Cedar Street and from Cedar to the softball fields near the Sandy Springs pavilion. Public Meetings The City Council Meetings will be open to the public in the Council Chambers. Social distancing and temperature scanning will be implemented. Operation Center (332 Home Avenue) Public Access Restricted Drop-offs and pickups can be made at the front office vestibule. Appointments will be required for any other business. Animal Shelter The shelter will remain open for public adoptions but a limit of two visitors will be allowed inside the building at one time. Recycling Centers In order to assist citizens with their sanitation and cleaning needs, we will continue to operate recycling centers as long as our staffing levels allow.
