​City of Maryville Water and Sewer Department will have one lane closed on Montgomery Lane from Hwy. 411 to Old Niles Ferry Road today until approximately noon. Crews will be working on the sewer line. Drivers should expect some delays and are urged to use caution in the area.

In our community there are hundreds of families who will suffer from the cold this winter because they are not able to heat their homes. Many of those in need are elderly or handicapped, some have children who will share their suffering.
 
The SHARE THE WARMTH program was designed to help in this area of need. Customers of Maryville Utilities can contribute funds to assist their neighbors and will be used to help those in need regardless of the type of heating energy used (coal, electric, gas, propane, or other). 

If you want to help, a monthly contribution can be included within your utility bill and Maryville Utilities will transfer your contribution to a custodial account to be administered by the Blount County Community Action Agency (BCAA). It is noteworthy to mention that your contribution is tax deductible and a statement of your contribution will be provided to you, upon request, at the end of each year.

We hope you'll come help Mayor White light the tree on Monday night at the Municipal Building. Santa will be here for visits with the children. We'll have free photos with Santa and free cookies and hot chocolate too! Maryville Christian School High School Choir will be singing Christmas carols. We can't wait to see you!
