The City of Maryville Water and Sewer Department will have Amerine Road down to one lane between Janet Lane and Fielding Drive until 5 p.m. today, (Friday, April 29, 2022) for sewer repairs.
The City of Maryville Water & Sewer Department will have S. Belmont Drive closed all day today, Thursday, April 28, 2022, from South Dogwood Drive to Genesis Street. Crews will be working to replace a manhole. Residents will have access to their homes.

Lincoln Road closed as well as the right lane on E. Lincoln Road (from E. Broadway Ave. to Old Knoxville Pike) today from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for paving. Please use caution in the area.
The city of Maryville Water and Sewer Department will begin conducting their annual inspections of residential lawn irrigation system backflow preventers, beginning the first week of May. Inspections will begin in the areas of Brantley Park, Northfield Subdivision, Havenwood Drive, Whittenburg Subdivision, Sweet Grass Subdivision, Davis Acres, River Run Subdivision, Grandview Drive, Holland Springs Subdivision, Windsor Manor and Windsor Park Subdivision, Ross Springs, Hunter’s Hills Subdivision, Cochran Road, Whittington Place, Treymont Subdivision, Timbercreek and West Wood.
State and Federal regulations require that these devices are tested and inspected at least annually by the water department in accordance with the city’s Cross-Connection Control Program. These systems must be de-winterized and operational up to the number two shutoff valve of the backflow device in order that the tests may be conducted. We anticipate a restock in July and will announce availability at that time.
City of Maryville Electric will have Cusick Street from Broadway to Harper Avenue closed completely today for underground utility work in the intersection. Motorists should avoid the area if possible, but traffic headed toward the Court House can turn on Harper and traffic headed away from the courthouse can turn on Church or Broadway. The Electric department's tree trimming workers will have one block of Lamar Street will be closed today from US 321 to Crawford for tree work. Miller Avenue from Court Street to Cates Street will also be closed to through traffic for sewer repair work. Cusick Street between Broadway Avenue and Harper Avenue will be closed to all traffic beginning 7 a.m. Wednesday, April 20 and is expected to be reopened by noon. Motorists may avoid expected congestion at the intersection by using alternate routes. Cusick Street traffic headed toward the courthouse will be able to turn onto Harper. Cusick Street traffic headed away from the courthouse will need to use either Church Avenue or Broadway Avenue. City of Maryville electric will be working on underground power lines accessed by a manhole in the intersection.

On Monday, May 9, contractors will move to the next phase of work along Cusick Street. Traffic will shift to perform demolition work on the sidewalk near Bill Cox Furniture. Cusick Street will remain open to traffic in both directions however for a few hours on Monday morning, Cusick will be closed to stage equipment. Motorists in the downtown area should expect delays and consider another route. The Harper Avenue closure, scheduled to begin Monday morning at 8, has been delayed until 1 p.m. to help ease congestion. Monday May 9 • 8 a.m. - Cusick Street will be closed to all traffic until approximately 11 a.m. • 1 p.m. - Harper Ave. will be closed to thru traffic until 3 p.m. Tuesday May 9 - Friday May 13 • Harper Ave. will be closed to thru traffic from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. For more information call the Engineering and Public Works Department at 865-273-3303. 4/11/2022 The City of Maryville Engineering and Public Works Department reports that the final stages of improvements to several downtown streets, ramps, and sidewalks are underway. The following is a comprehensive list of the work in progress in the downtown area. This phase of the project is estimated to be complete by May 18, 2022.
