The City of Maryville is Hiring a Right of Way Manager Assistant - Tree Trimmer

The ROW Manager Assistant - Tree Trimmer performs difficult skilled trades work assisting with overseeing the trimming, removing, felling, and pruning of trees, shrubs, bushes, brush, and obstructions from electric utility and street rights-of-way, preparing reports, and related work as apparent or assigned. Assists in overseeing the tree trimming program. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Right of Way Manager. Limited supervision is exercised over Tree Trimmers.

The City of Maryville Water and Sewer Department will close Kittrell Avenue from S. Everett High Road to Rugby Place today, Tuesday, June 13, at 2:45 p.m. until approximately 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2023. Crews will be working on sewer construction.

The City Engineer performs complex advanced technical and administrative work supervising the planning, development, and construction of a variety of Public Works facilities constructed in the City by public agencies and private developers. The City Engineer ensures the public health, safety, and welfare of the public by maintaining City standards, codes, and ordinances.

S. Everett High Road Closed Until Approximately 7:30 This Evening

UPDATE: This road closure will be in effect again today, Wednesday, June 14 until approximately 7:30 p.m.

The City of Maryville Water and Sewer Department will close S. Everett High Road from Morningside Avenue, to Sevierville Road today, Tuesday, June 13, 2023, until approximately 7:30 p.m. Crews will be working on sewer construction.

The City of Maryville Water and Sewer Department will close 7th Street from Madison Avenue to Monroe Avenue today, Tuesday, June 13, 2023, until approximately 4:30 p.m. Crews will be working on sewer construction.

The Air National Guard Band set to Perform in Maryville July 3

The United States Air National Guard Band of the South will be presenting a concert at The Theater in the Park at Jack Greene Park in downtown Maryville on Monday, July 3rd at 7 p.m. The concert will include performances by the Concert Band, Blue Groove Jazz Ensemble, and Sound Barrier, a classic rock and soul review band. The performance is family-friendly and open to the public, free of charge.

Expect Lane Closures on Hwy. 411 So. Tuesday and Wednesday

The City of Maryville Stormwater Department will close the right southbound lane of Hwy. 411 S. from Legends Way to Market Place Drive Tuesday, June 13, 2023. Additionally, the right northbound lane will be closed from William Blount Drive to Fairview Drive on Wednesday, June 14. Both closures will begin at 8 a.m. and will end at approximately 4 p.m. Crews will be replacing catch basins.

The South Loop Trail at Jarvis Park is Closed Today and Tomorrow

The South Loop Trail at Jarvis Park will be closed Monday June 12 through Tuesday June 13. Work is being performed by Vulcan Materials along the stream bed of Duncan Branch adjacent to the trail. The public is asked to keep a safe distance from this work at all times.

A New All-way Stop-controlled Intersection on Montvale Station Road

The City of Maryville Engineering and Public Works Department reports that improvements to Best Street and Montvale Station Road are progressing as planned.

Previously, a single stop-sign at the intersection of Best Street and Montvale Station Road managed traffic. An intersection evaluation revealed site distance issues and difficulty for traffic turning left onto Montvale Station Road. Therefore, engineers determined that it should become an all-way stop-controlled intersection. This change is expected to be in effect on Monday, June 12, 2023. Please exercise caution when traveling through the intersection during the transition.

A Section of Madison Ave. will be Closed Today, June 8, 2023

6/8/2023

The City of Maryville Engineering and Public Works Department will close Madison Avenue from N. 5th Street to N. 6th Street today, June 8, for sidewalk and concrete work. The closure will be in place from 10 a.m. until approximately 3 p.m.
