The City of Maryville Water & Sewer Department staff is expecting a section of Best Street to remain closed through the weekend and possibly through Wednesday, November 8 while repairs are underway. The water main break that occurred on Wednesday, November 1 appears to have (included) a stormwater drain slip that caused water to wash away soil underneath the pipe (and a water main break at the same location). Crews (have repaired) the water main (and are replacing 100’ of 18” stormwater pipe.)
Best Street will remain closed to through traffic from Anderson Avenue to Boyd Avenue. Motorists will be detoured around the closure until repairs are complete. Tractor trailers and larger trucks must take an alternate route. For more information call 273-3304.
