Streambank stabilization work will span approximately 500 feet of bank upstream of the Best Street bridge on Pistol Creek. Safety fence will be installed adjacent to the greenway, and construction equipment will be staged in a small section of the Sandy Springs parking lot, O’Leary Lane, and Parkside Drive. While brief closures and restricted access may be required for public safety during the construction process, the greenway will remain open through this area during the project.
The work will stabilize the eroded streambanks along the creek using bioengineered treatments such as bank sloping, live brush mattresses, and tree planting. Valley Resource Construction will perform the work under the supervision of Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc., the designer, and engineer for this project.
