Sewer line installation scheduled for Jan. 3 as work to remodel the facility continues
The City of Maryville recycling center on Best Street will be closed on Monday, January 2, 2023, in observance of the New Year holiday. On Tuesday, January 3, the facility will remain closed for the installation of sanitary sewer lines. Crews will be digging a trench across the entrance of the recycling center then laying pipe before backfilling the trench. This work is expected to take the entire day to complete. Citizens are encouraged to use the recycling center on Highway 321 across from Blount Memorial Hospital while the Best Street facility is closed on January 3. Officials are hopeful that the Best Street recycling center will be re-opened on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.
