We Would Like to Introduce You to Skye

Skye is a 4–5-year-old sweetheart that has been at the shelter for just under a year. While Skye is a definite Volunteer Favorite, it takes a while for her to warm up to new people, especially men. She is nervous to trust people and has a side-eye that usually looks like she’s warning people to stay away. Unfortunately, we don’t think the side eye means anything negative and she gives it to all her favorite humans and dogs. Over the last several months, volunteers have worked tirelessly helping Skye get over her fear of new people, men, and other dogs. She is warming up quicker than she used to with humans, and she plays extraordinarily well with most dogs that come to the shelter. Sadly, for Skye, her best fur friends come and go and leave her behind. The best home for Skye is most likely one that:

-Has a female owner that she can trust and if a male is in the house, he needs to be patient.
-Probably does not have children as she loves her people so well, we think she would be best with 1 or 2 favorites.
-No cats or other pets other than maybe a dog that we can introduce to Skye at the shelter
-New owners that are going to be willing to visit the shelter more than once to get to know Skye on a different level than most adopters.
