Due to unexpected delays the westbound lanes on W. Lamar Alexander Parkway from Broadway to Morganton Square Dr. will remain closed until approximately 11:30 a.m. this morning (Friday Oct. 12). Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route until the lanes can be reopened. Delays are to be expected on W. Lamar Alexander as westbound traffic will be detoured to W. Broadway Ave. (U.S. Hwy 411) to U.S. Hwy 129.

Crews working on the City's sewer lines during the overnight hours hit a gas line last night. Consequently, westbound lanes on W. Lamar Alexander Parkway (U.S. Hwy 321) remain closed at this hour due to required repairs to the gas line. The road will be reopened to traffic by noon today (Tuesday, Oct. 9). Crews also report that the project is scheduled to wrap up overnight tonight.

Due to unexpected delays the westbound lanes on W. Lamar Alexander Parkway from Broadway to Morgantown Square Dr. will remain closed until approximately 7 p.m. this evening (Tuesday Oct. 9). Motorists are encouraged to plan an alternate route for this evening’s commute home to help alleviate congestion. Please use extreme caution and expect delays on W. Lamar Alexander as westbound traffic will be detoured to W. Broadway Ave. (U.S. Hwy 411) to U.S. Hwy 129.
Additionally the previously scheduled overnight work beginning at 7 p.m. this evening has been postponed until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10th. Crews plan to finish the project by 7 a.m. on Thursday, October 11th.
